Change Field Names in Line Chart

In Table visuals, there is a Properties > Edge Labels tab where you can change the display name of a field. This tab does not exist for Line Chart visuals, and I see no other way to rename fields at the visual level. I do not want to rename the columns in the dataset because this dataset is extensive and the current names are necessary to distinguish fields for me as the developer, but confusing to the user. I need to be able to customize names for each view to bring clarity.

Agreed, this would be a very beneficial feature - we've also run into this issue where we have to force the field/calc name to be able to display correctly in charts.
