In OAC data sets, without join conditions, it will not work. But in Power BI even though there are no join conditions between 2 files, users can see the data using vlookup. Can we have similar feature in OAC.
Thanks for your submission. We need more information about your request. Currently if you are creating a multi-table dataset, the goal is to create a single dataset for workbook consumers from multiple joined tables, files, etc. So there is a requirement as you say to join the tables in the dataset. If you would like to create a workbook/dashboard where you have multiple unjoined datasets, you can do so by adding these datasets in the Add Data section of the workbooks. This is where you can blend individual datasets or keep them unjoined and they are all available in the workbooks. If I'm misunderstanding you requirement, please provide more details. thanks.

User want to have one Dataset with multiple tables and few are joined with each other and few are not joined.
Currently , for not joined tables, user need to create a separate Datasets for each. It is cumbersome to manage multiple datasets.
Major requirement of idea here is reduce number of Datsets to manage.
One of my use case for similar situation.
Current workflow.
Here I should manage 4 Datasets.
With the idea, we can do it with 1 Dataset.

@Rajakumar Burra — it is not clear why you need to add all the datasets here. One note is that when a dataset is in a workbook — the workbook assumes all the columns can be used together. So you are both managing datasets and also defining where joins work. It might be worth a call to learn more. Since the dataset is intended to make it clear how the data works together… maybe there is another solution to your challenge.
I'm surprised that we don't have this feature. There will always be cases where we need to perform a dimension lookup to return specific values, similar to a VLookup. This might not be achievable through simple joins. Most reporting tools offer a way to perform lookups against another unjoined table in the dataset.
