First Question (not the correct forum) regarding Constrained Plan and how it is implemented.

The issue is we have several plants and we are implementing a Constrained Plan at a plant in Oregon. The plant in Oregon uses Standard Delays in the process, but I also assist for a group in Alabama that uses resource offsets (or activity offsets) in their planning. According to the person who is the implementer of the Constrained Plan in Oregon, he stated that resource offsets won’t work with how our constrained plan is set up. I have very little knowledge of how the process works, but would like to see things working properly at both plants. I have set up resource calendars to the Alabama plant, but not sure what I should do next. Is there a FAQ or forum entries that cover this topic? Also, which is the correct forum to post this question. Thanks, Tim Kelly

  • Hi Tim,

What Oracle product are you asking about? Is that "Constrained Plan" supposed to be the product name?

Google seems to suggest that constrained plan is something part of Supply Chain and Manufacturing cloud application.

It definitely isn't an Oracle Analytics product (this forum).

You should have a look at https://community.oracle.com/customerconnect , it is a parallel (and independent) forum covering all the cloud applications and a few other cloud products. That forum is quite large, with lot of categories. If you don't find something exactly about constrained plan, look for supply chain and manufacturing and ask in there.

    Thanks

Gianni: Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. IN OPM, we have set up calendars for resources and personnel days off and added that into Oracle. The screenshot shows where in Oracle (OPM) we go to set up ASCP (constrained plan). Should I still try and go to the other forum? We don't have much in the cloud here.

  • Ok, your screenshot shows E-Business Suite.

There is a category for EBS in the public Developer Community: https://forums.oracle.com/ords/apexds/domain/dev-community/category/general-e-business_suite

You also have a category for EBS is MOSC: https://community.oracle.com/mosc/categories/oracle_e-business_suite (look at the main menu "Categories", when you mouse-over the E-Business Suite menu on the left, you have all the sub-categories visible).

MOSC requires your account to be linked to a valid support contract. If you have it, that would be the place I would post first.
