OAC-Snowflake Key Pair authentication
Comments

Urgent Request:
Key Pair Authentication for Snowflake Integration Snowflake will soon deprecate password-based authentication. To avoid any impact on ongoing customer integrations and enhance platform security, Oracle must prioritize this request.
Timeline: Aug. 2025 - Oct. 2025: Mandatory MFA for all new human users.
Currently, OAC connects to Snowflake using a service account and password. However, the security team is enforcing restrictions on username and password authentication methods, mandating that all applications utilize key-pair authentication for connecting to Snowflake.
Unfortunately, OAC is the only tool that does not support this feature.
This requirement is of the highest priority.
Please elevate the priority of this feature request considering the Snowflake announcement of enforcing key-pair authentication.

Currently OAC is connecting to Snowflake using service account and password . But our security team restricting username and password method of authentication by November 2025 . They want all applications to use key pair authentication to connect to snowflake . But OAC don't support that feature now .
We would like to request that enhancement as to be compliant with security and compliance policies . Could you please let us know any plan and the time of this enhancement availability.
Without this enhancement , our plateform is going to loose the connection to snowflake database as its the only end-user database to our oracle reports. Which will impact our customers and us.

Key-pair authentication is planned for Sep OAC update and we also plan on a solution for OAS at that time as well. @Doug Ross Can you share details on how your OAS customer is connecting to Snowflake via RPD so we can confirm the solution for that particular use case? i.e. are they using ODBC DSN. Please feel free to reach via email to discuss.
