OAS2024 - How to stop filter selection saving between sessions?

On a dashboard filter any selection you have made last time you used the dashboard will be saved and applied the next time you open it.

Is there a way to stop this functionality so when you next open the workbook the filters are as their default value instead.

Thanks,

Frazer

    @FrazerP User needs to manually set the default stage for each workbook to "Original State". States →Manage states

    @Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle As we discussed earlier, it is very much confusing to users and almost all users are getting confused with this.

    Also manually set the state for each workbook by each user is not good UX.

    Thanks for answer, is this only on the cloud version as I cannot see this on our OAS dashboards?

  • We are working on keeping the Original State as the default unless the user explicitly sets Last State is the default state in the Manage State dialog. We will share the release update for this change in the coming days.

    @Abhinav Chaurasia-Oracle , FYI

    Thanks,

    Avinash

    Thank you @Avinash Krishnaram-Oracle for quick reply and action. It will help.

    Yes on OAS as well. What OAS update are you on? Are you seeing the Workbook State menu?

    If not make sure, in Workbook edit mode > Present > Personalization is turned ON

    @FrazerP , all the replies above talking about the workbook state menu do not apply to you.

    You are using a workbook ("dashboard" usually refers to the "classic" dashboard object) in OAS 2024. The workbook state menu was added to OAC (cloud) in the March 2025 release. OAS 2025 (the one you could update to from your OAS 2024) is based on the OAC January 2025 features.

    The workbook state menu isn't part of OAS 2025, it will be released with OAS 2026 around April 2026.

    And this being a new feature (and not a bug fix), I don't see any option for it to be released in a coming bundle patch for OAS 2024 or 2025.
