Missing BI Consumer and BI Content Author roles and policies
Hi,
We installed a clean OBIEE 12c in our region. Then we noticed it only contains the BI Service Administrator role and policy, and missing BI Consumer and BI Content Author. Is there any easy way to re-create these two roles and policies in OBIEE? If not, how can I know what permissions belong to each role if I need to manually create it?

There are three different BAR files that you can use as the basis for your OBIEE 12c deployment (or, and 11g migration jar). The SampleAppLite and Starter BAR files both contain BI ServiceAdministrator, BIConsumer, and BIContentAuthor application roles and permissions.

You can import these into your existing installation.

Hm, it doesn't say where the Starter BAR file is located. If I have to do this manually, I just need to re-create the 2 missing roles and 2 mission policies? For each missing policies, just add the permissions as indicated in your article?

For those interested, the Starter BAR file is not available in OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0 as pointed out in this KB. It maybe be available in future releases.
