When selecting fields from the Fusion Connection subject Areas add the ability to search through the folders to find a specific field.

  • Hi @SharonAtGorilla - could you expand on this idea further? We do have the capability to search for measures/attributes (columns) within the DV workbook space in author mode (see screenshots of an SCM Analytics subject area), but I think you're referring to something else.

When creating Datasets in OAX from Fusion Subject Areas, after selecting the subject area you are presented with the hierarchy, but there is no search capability there. This is not within the workbook space.

  • Hi @SharonAtGorilla - just to be sure we understand the question, do you mean you want to be able to search in edit definition when creating a dataset with a local subject area table and you would like to traverse thru the folder structure and find specific columns correct? see picture below:

Yes that sounds about right. For example the Product Management Structures Real time has many folders and many fields. I can traverse the folders but it's difficult to find some fields without a search capability.

  • Thank you, @SharonAtGorilla!
This feature isn't planned yet, but it is being reviewed.

As an FYI - I am moving this idea from the FDI Idea Lab to the Oracle Analytics Cloud + Server Idea Lab since the Product Managers (like Luis) who review what we consider Analytics "platform"-related features across OAC/OAS/FDI typically review ideas there. You posting this idea in the FDI Idea Lab wasn't incorrect, but we've found this method of moving these types of ideas to that specific Idea Lab to be best when reviewing with the internal Product Management teams. I will continue to do this through my moderation of the FDI Idea Lab, so don't hesitate to continue posting there!
