Good afternoon!
I accidentally deleted a dataset. Is it possible to restore it? If so, where can I find the deleted files?
Thank you very much!
As Wayne mentioned , you can recover the content by restoring from a snapshot which was taken previously.
Please check "Can Oracle help to restore lost content" in Backup FAQ https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acabi/top-faqs-back-and-restore-user-content-snapshots.html
Do you have nightly snapshots?
When restoring content from a snapshot, be careful!
You don't have lot of granularity, it's usually a "all or none" for a kind of object (or many kind of objects all together). Therefore, restoring your deleted dataset, if it's a old-ish snapshot, you could lose a number of objects that have been created/modified in the meantime.
Always consider the pros & cons before to restore from a snapshot in the environment where you deleted that dataset. Maybe restoring on a different environment, even a temporary new one, and then just taking that single object to load it into the target environment (not using the snapshot restore) is safer.
