Need help building a Hires report from Workforce Core and Talent Acquisition subject areas

For compliance reporting purposes, we've built a hires report that includes data from both the HCM - Workforce Core and the HCM - Talent Acquisition subject areas. The problem is, we need a 100% accurate way to join the two subject areas. We found this discussion, but the solution appears to be for OTBI and our report is in FDI because we need to be able to report on historical data.

We're currently building a dataset by joining person number = candidate person number AND (job code from the offer = job code from Workforce Core OR projected start date = hire date). But that's not 100% accurate because some employees have been hired into the same job code multiple times, and employees' projected start date doesn't always match their hire date (if their hire date changed after the offer stage).

The fields on the report from HCM - Talent Acquisition subject area include requisition number, candidate number, requisition type, recruiter name, and recruiter person number. There are many fields from the HCM - Workforce Core subject area, including person number, location code, legal employer name, hire date, employee demographic information, manager person number, job code, remote work status, etc.

If you've built a similar report or have ideas for how it could be done, I'd be grateful for any feedback!

To clarify, are you always pulling in someone from Talent Acquisition that is an employee for this particular blended report? Or are you possibly pulling in recruits that were never hired?

Usually I've seen tie between the 2 areas via Pending Worker where it assigned the Employee ID and is tied to the Talent record. If that's the case it should retain the info based on the Employee ID. You may need to make sure that a fact from each subject area is in the report in FDI. We've seen sometimes the data is blank if we don't have a fact. Also, because of the "termination" of Pending Workers the default filters may need to be played with to ensure its linking both. i.e. don't filter out Inactive.

Hi @Alex van Gulijk, thank you for your response! For this report, we only want to include employees who were actually hired. And, if an employee was hired and re-hired more than once, we want to be able to match up which requisition number each employee was hired under on each hire date. Do you think that tying the two subject areas together via Pending Worker would enable us to do that?

  • Hi @Heather Wells Can you check this post? In the pdf attached to that there is a line item named Candidate Conversion…. Please take a look if it helps?
