Current state according to Oracle Support…
It is not possible to send/configure a vanity URL through an agent, since by default the service is configured to use permanent URLs and not vanity URLs, which can change and affect the original configuration of the agents.
This is primarily used with sending report links by agent.

You can use vanity URLs today. Can you be more specific about which UI or gesture has the limitation? A screen shot might be helpful.
