  2. I am trying to install a second instance over the same DB and getting an error that the STB have already been used

    Hello,

Active/ Active, Active/ Passive is design choice, that depends on how you want to steer the traffic.

Here is blog on DR, which will gives design guidelines

    https://docs.oracle.com/en/middleware/bi/analytics-server/administer-oas/deploy-high-availability.html

    Thanks

    Hi Alywin,

Welcome to the Oracle Analytics community and thanks for your question@

I am trying to install a second instance over the same DB and getting an error that the STB have already been used

You cannot install a second OAS into the same RCU schema.

You may be confusing High Availability (HA) using scale-out as documented in the OAS Enterprise Deployment Guide or the OAS Administration Guide with Disaster Recover (DR) failover.
