Is it possible to create a prompt with description and code to be used for filtering in OTBI Prompts
It is possible to have a prompt for Dashboard where the prompt will display the description (say for example: Payperiod Name) and while user selecting the pay period name from the prompt, the OTBI result should be displayed based on the Payperiod end date(code for the description).
Is this possible or is there any way to accomplish this in OTBI prompt for Dashboards?
Thanks!!!
Regards.

Hi @GTS Narayanen,
Welcome to the Oracle Analytics Community!
Can you please try following to see if that works:
- Create the Dashboard Prompt with Presentation Variable (say pvPPN)
- Create a Report (Say REP1) which will be filtered to above variable in Step1 and should return the Pay Period End Date. This Report will be used as a Filter for the main report.
- Create the Main Report where there will be filter on 'Pay Period End Date' and it will refer to the 'REP1' in Step2.
Now if Users select the 'Pay Period Name'; Presentation Variable will track that and that will be passed to the Report in Step2 which will return the corresponding Period End Date. Finally the report in Step3 will be filtered on that Period End Date.
Hope this help.
Thank you.
