Is Description or Hover Text Supported for Custom Metrics in Semantic Model Extension?
Dear Experts
I created custom metrics using a Semantic Model Extension, but I don’t see any option to define description or hover text like we have for standard metrics (refer to attached screenshot).
Is this currently supported? If not, is it a known limitation?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi @s.datta,
Please take a look into the following post which may be useful.
How to add custom pop-up description to attribute in FDI OAC visualization — Oracle
Hope this help.
Thank you.

Thanks for your response.
The blog you shared discusses tooltips at the report or workbook level. However, we are looking for a solution using a Semantic Model extension, specifically when creating custom metrics and adding them to an existing subject area, so that the same tooltip or definition is visible to all users consistently.
Please let us know if this is supported or if there is an alternative recommended approach.
Thanks in advance.

@s.datta - This feature is currently not available in FDI. An enhancement request has already been submitted and is currently under review by Product Management.
