Expand OAC DV Scheduling Capabilities with Selection of Parameters at Run time
Siva Pratap Nellipudi-Oracle
Rank 2 - Community Beginner
Problem Statement
- Users want to schedule reports with different parameter values.
- Currently, scheduling requires Edit/Save privileges on workbooks.
- Granting “Create/Edit Workbooks” privilege is not acceptable, as it allows users to create new workbooks on any dataset.
Gap Identified
- Users can change parameters while running reports, but cannot change them while scheduling.
- Workarounds (copying to Personal Folders, granting edit rights) introduce governance risks and are not aligned with customer requirements.
Reference Point
- OAC Classic Agents supported parameter selection during scheduling, enabling flexible self‑service without requiring workbook edit rights.
Proposed Enhancement
- Allow users to choose parameter values directly in the scheduling interface, independent of workbook edit/save privileges.
- This ensures flexibility in scheduling while maintaining governance and restricting workbook creation.
Business Impact
- Empowers users with true self‑service scheduling.
- Reduces administrative overhead and avoids unnecessary privilege escalation.
- Aligns with customer expectations for parity with OAC Classic functionality.

This indeed a good feature, which multiple clients are requesting in OAC and even in FDI. Prod Dev team can you please consider this idea. This will add a good value addition to the product both OAC and FDI.
