OBIEE Migration 11g to 12c

Hi,

I am trying to migrate 11g to 12c in a SampleApp406v machine. I install the OBIEE 12c but i don't find the "migration-tool.sh" in the directory.

ORACLE_HOME/user_projects/domains/bi/bitools/bin/

Where can I find the migration-tool.sh script?

Did your 12c install went fine?

Because your /user_projects/domains/bi/bitools/bin/ folder is a bit "empty" compared to a normal install ....

yes, because i dont have any errors.

And you did all the steps?

Because the migration-tool.sh is supposed to be there (as the doc says as well).

Which version of 12c did you install?

And you installed 12c inside the SampleApp 406 ? (coming with a 11.1.1.7.1 by default)

I install at first "fmw_12.2.1.0.0_infrastructure.jar" then "fmw_12.2.1.0.0_bi_linux64".

My next step was create Repositorys with RCU. At the last i start the "config.sh" script.

All of them without any Error. Yes i install 12c inside the Sample App 406.

Well ... still no idea why your bitools/bin folder is so "empty" ....

Did you try to search the migration-tool.sh in all the subfolders of your OBIEE install folder? There is maybe a copy around (the original one the config copy and deploy in the bitools/bin folder).

PS: with 12c no need to run the RCU by hand, the config step will automatically call the RCU and create the schemas, so one step less.

Just a thought.

SA406 is an old VM, released about three years ago and running on Oracle Linux 6.5 with I don't know which JDK version (but most likely 1.6_something).

OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0 is certified with Oracle Linux 6.6 and JDK 1.8.0_51+ (release date July 14, 2015).

Are you sure the process was absolutely flawless and error free? No warnings, no errors?
