Hi all,
I’m working on Oracle ERP Analytics and trying to understand how to add new (custom) Financial Categories that can be assigned to Natural Account segment values.
I followed the standard navigation:
- Setup and Maintenance
- Financials → Financial Reporting Structures
- Manage Chart of Accounts Structure Instances
- Edit COA instance → Segment Instances
- Open the Value Set for the Natural Account
- Manage Values
From there, I can see the Financial Category column and assign values from a dropdown (e.g. Goodwill, Income Tax, Other Assets, etc.).
However:
- I cannot find where to create new Financial Categories
- I don’t see a related Value Set or Lookup exposed in Setup
- The categories look like seeded values
According to Oracle documentation:
“If you define custom categories, you need to define your own derived metrics…”
This suggests that custom Financial Categories should be possible, but it’s unclear where/how they are created.
Found this info in
https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/enterprise-data-management-cloud/dmcaa/register_fc_financial_categories_100xbe093cd6.html
to use EDM to add Financial Castegories but the matter is that , how about a user without edm?, can be done on fusion or some other way?
