Invalid JSON Payload

We're on OBIEE 11g, 11.1.1.9.0 on Linux RedHat 64bit. For one specific table, users are receiving "Failed to Load(Invalid JSON payload" when trying to specify or search for values in a column filter (or prompt that uses the filter) in an analysis. Only specific columns seem to be affected (FULL_NAME, LAST_NAME, FIRST_NAME, MI, MIDDLE_NAME) all of which are type varchar2 in the backend database. Has anyone else seen this issue, and, if so, what did you do to resolve it?

I thought it would be a problem of Oracle BI 12c, since we have it as from the migration from 11.1.1.7 to 12c!?
