OBIA 11.1.1.8 from PeopleSoft 9.0 to 9.2 - How much effort?

Our PeopleSoft implementation will be upgraded from 9.0 to 9.2, beginning this year sometime.  If you work with PeopleSoft, you know that this upgrade splits the HR/Student database and application into separate databases and applications.  This means our OBIA ETLs will be changed from the 9.0 model to the 9.2 model.

Has anyone undergone this change and have any ideas of what the timeframe might be?  We have done very little customization of our ETLs, but we have also found a tremendous number of bugs in the delivered code.

Thanks for any input.

Time frame would be 3 months, but that depends on your approach

    1. Full Refresh against new adapter 9.2 which is quite easy, but that depends on the volume of data brought into warehouse. If you have 2-3 years of data you can go with this & work on your custom requirements. This can be achievable in 4 weeks.

    2. If you want to go with incremental refresh using 9.2 adapter with out touching the historical data, it may add up one more month to perform fit-gap analysis.

         - Point existing warehouse to new 9.2 adapter

         - Run the existing Load Plan and see how many scenarios are failing and why they are failing.

         - Classify the issue, because of new columns added, column deleted, datatype issue

         - Come to estimation based on the scenarios impacted

From a People soft functionality perspective, 9.0 to 9.2 there are no major changes only there is a change in process. Please understand more on this with PS team.

So it sounds like your experience is that you had no trouble with the source tables being split into two databases and with shared dimensions, such as biographical info being correctly put together. Can you tell me what scenarios you are basing your estimate on?  Have you done a similar upgrade?
