A connection pool has no option to populate the IP Adress of my external database.

    Read the documentation https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1221/biee/BIEMG/datasource.htm#BIEMG3833

"Metadata imports to an Oracle BI repository must occur through an ODBC or native database connection to the underlying data source. Metadata can also be imported from software such as Microsoft Excel through an ODBC connection."

You create a connection to your source using a connection object and then use that connection to import the metadata. You can see below a list of available connection type in OBIEE rpd.

Hello everyone, I made the correction with the windows ODBC DRIVER configuration.

    Data base not localhost.

  • The question was more about what kind of source you wanted to use to point you in the best direction (like OCI instead of ODBC if Oracle etc.).

    But you fixed, so enjoy
