OBIEE 12c server cache changes

Hi,
Just read the article (https://www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2016/05/changes-bi-server-cache-behaviour-obiee-12c/ ) on Rittman Mead about server cache getting bypassed in OBIEE 12c when refreshing an Analysis/Dashboard. If that's the case, what are the benefits of turning on server cache?? Most users will likely want to refresh their Analysis/Dashboard upon opening them.

If you *click refresh* on a dashboard/analysis, the cache is forcibly bypassed. When you simply *open* a dashboard/analysis, you may get a cache hit, as before. Users won't 'refresh' dashboards unless they believe the underlying data has changed. The only reason they'd see stale data is if you have a cache in use and are not managing it correctly to purge stale data. See https://www.rittmanmead.com/blog/2015/09/obiee-bi-server-cache-management-strategies/ for more details.

So by opening an analysis, it'll use the server cache. When does it use the presentation cache?
