OBIEE 12c upgrade
Hi,
We are using OBIEE 12.2.1.0.0 on AIX and having some instability issues. Oracle recommends upgrading to a newer release such as 12.2.1.2. Instead of an in-place upgrade, I'm thinking of doing a clean install on a new server. We only have few Analyses and Dashboards to migrate over and there are less than 5 users.
Does anyone see any issues with manually Exporting and Importing the Analyses/Dashboards, re-uploading the repository from 12.2.1.0 --> 12.2.1.2 ? I'm trying to be as clean as possible with 12.2.1.2. Thanks for your insights!

Post Migration Steps for Oracle BI EE
Make sure you run the "Scan and Update Catalog Objects That Require Updates" for the catalog once you've imported the catalog objects but between 12 versions I never had big issues.

Would I still need to run the Scan and Update if I just archive/unarchive objects between 12.2.1.0 and 12.2.1.2?

Yes. Scan and udpdate or if you want to be extra careful UpgradeAndExit in instaceconfig and then bounce OBIPS.
It's still important to have the right version stamp in the catalog
