Act as functionality in OBIEE 12c

Question

Hi all

When implementing the Act as, I'm getting the following error: This functionality has not been enabled by your administrator.

I followed these instructions:

Managing Security for Dashboards and Analyses

I see that in my obis1_diagnostic.log I get an error:

The session variable, NQ_SESSION.RUNAS, has no value definition. [[

[nQSError: 13011] Query for Initialization Block 'PROXYLEVEL' has failed.

I also gave me Act as privileges on the administration tab in OBIEE. Nothing seems to work.

The customMessages folder I created it under:

/BI/Oracle_Home/user_projects/domains/BI/bidata/components/OBIPS/customMessages

LogonParamSQLTemplate.xml as specified in the instanceconfig.xml file

I saw that maybe the location of the file might be wrong. Any clue?

SOLVED: Folder for customMessages is custommessages according to this document: OBIEE 12c: Act As Not Functioning: This Functionality Has Not Been Enabled By Your Administrator (Doc ID 2118194.1)

If you already get hard errors with the init blocks I'd start there...without properly running queries and instantiated variables there's not really any way this can ever work.
