BIP report replaces the OBIEE interface with BIP interface, when run from OBIEE dashboard

I have a BI publisher report that I am embedding in a OBIEE dashboard using Embedded content option, but when I run the dashboard, the report runs and BI Publisher interface then replaces the OBIEE dashboard interface.
Thus, I now do not have access to any of the other dashboard pages etc.
Both the applications BIP and OBIEE are installed on different servers, with BIP on cloud and OBIEE on premise.
I am working with OBIEE 11.1.1.7.160719.
Is there a workaround to cope up with this problem so that I see the BIP report confined inside the dashboard page only ?

Have you tried with a static text and HTML iframe? This is what the Embedded content does under the covers but with custom HTML you may have multiple options.
