Moving to Oracle Analytics Idealab.
-
When you say Analytics, I assume this is Classic Analysis. There are some workarounds to do so if this is the case.
-
Yes, the feature is on the roadmap.
-
There is a similar idea: 541171 And the described use case is expected to be accomplished with planned capability.
-
I believe Access can be configured as a linked server in SQL Server. Have you explored that option?
-
Merging may be a bit difficult because of the ownership model. Agree on the general need to make it easier to sort where/if connections are being used. @Adam Bloom-Oracle
-
Subject to change, we are targeting to have integration with OCI Logging available for preview by end of calendar year.
-
Can you provide more specifics on your use case and requirements. You mention setting session variables on the fly on a Dashboard. I assume you are doing this with a Dashboard prompt. Is this correct? I'm not sure what you mean by "three reset session".

Oracle is reviewing capabilities for more control of granular permissions for OAC features. @Adam Bloom-Oracle

Feature is available in OAS 2022 (6.4)

OAC Agents do support the ability to invoke a custom web service. This may be a potential avenue to save results to FTP. On-premise folders will have network challenges.
-
There are no plans to expose system schema tables in OAC. There are plans to provide more diagnostic logging inclusive of Agent details.
-
Agent limits have been recently updated. https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acsom/create-services-oracle-analytics-cloud.html#GUID-164D8568-9AE3-4A74-9F1A-0D87B78713C9

After further review, there is no plan to update row limits for data model preview. The current limit provides a safeguard against potential stability and performance issues as queries are made synchronously for preview.

Hi Marcelo, Did you try VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.variablename) ? It is not the intent for DV to replace Classic BI. Many customers have made significant investments in developing Classic content and will want to continue to use. Certainly more capabilities will be added into DV with consideration of what is frequently used in…
-
There are plans for a capability similar to "classic" presentation variables in DV. However, please clarify your request. RPD variables can be referenced in a workbook using an expression like: Fiscal Year = Valueof(currentFY) where currentFY is a repository variable.
-
An alternative OAC does support Web Service actions which can be used to create custom workflows.
-
The functionality has been removed as part of a project for a common header across OAS/OAC interfaces. There are no plans to bring this back. Please provide specifics on the business need so we can consider alternatives.
-
For OAC we are planning improvements in the area of audit events.
