Ha ... hi Christian. That is on our "wish list". Maybe next year we will get started on that. Maybe Data Lineage too ... that would probably be helpful. Actually, right now, our OBIA instance is not the official system of record (that would be discoverer ). It has been a long journey to get OBIA implemented, but we've made…

I see. Ok, thanks. I will look to experiment a little bit with this on a copy of our Dev RPD file. Thanks a lot for the guidance! I'll provide some additional updates in the near term. Charles

Ok, thanks Gianni. It does look like both of these subject areas belong to the same model. I did a right-click on each, then Query Related Objects > Business Model. They both are showing as being under 'Core'. So, it sound like you understanding is correct here. To confirm, are you saying that I can take (e.g. drag & drop)…

Hi Gianni, Well, today is not my lucky day . I can see that one of the columns is there and one of them is not. But, it looks like the "missing" column is in a subject area that is already in the presentation layer. Here is a look: Each of the existing columns, including one of the new columns, come from 'Financials - AP…

Thanks Gianni. As columns can't be added to a dashboard or a page I guess you mean that you want to display them in the analysis you have on that page? > Correct If they are part of the subject area used by the analysis no problem, just add them. > Trying to confirm this. I can see that all of the existing columns come…

Hi - Do you have access to the database alert log? Maybe take a look at that to see if it reveals some addtional info ... Regards, Charles

This could be helpful: (there are several others, as well) Still would need to know the specific application(s) and versions you are working with, and additional log entries from the LDAP-side. Hope this helps though ... Charles

I'm not sure that note is for the issue you are facing. Try searching on this: Caused by: oracle.bi.security.service.IdentityStoreProviderException: oracle.security.idm.OperationFailureException: oracle.ods.virtualization.service.VirtualizationException: oracle.ods.virtualization.engine.util.DirectoryException: LDAP Error…

My understanding is that you could 'export' the file(s) back to the OS, from the WebLogic Administration Console. For example, got to: Home >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm > Migration > Export. From there, you'd get a bunch of *.dat files in the path provided. Alternatively, this could be simplified/automated (via…

Hi - Are you using an external LDAP? Also, check some of the other logs ... like the managed server logs. For example: bi_server1-diagnostic.log, bi_server1.log, and bi_server1.out By the way, what version are you using? OBIEE 11g: How To Check the Log Files (Doc ID 1262647.1) Regards, Charles

Thanks Pedro. I was not able to find the objects in the production instance. I did see them in the UAT environment, so I migrated that folder over as well. Now, I am able to view/interact with these dashboards (using the method discussed here)! The initial testing looks good. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed…

Here is an example: "Count of Invoices" page Original view, after un-archiving: First view of the page editor: Opening the corresponding catalog items: Placing each object directly below the existing: Deleting the original, after: Saving: Hit 'Run': Still the same ... Charles

Hi Pedro. Thanks ... I will put together a posting with my steps. Charles

Hi Gianni, Thanks for the reply, very good explanation for this. I still haven't been able to edit the dashboards in the right way as of yet. There are 8 pages altogether. I have tried dragging & dropping the objects from the catalog back to the editor, but the warning still doesn't go away. Not sure what I am doing wrong.…

Thanks Pedro. I actually wasn't able to get the new dashboards working, using any of the methods discussed. I'm re-assessing the situation as a whole, since we have many existing dashboards that are currently working within this configuration. Charles

Most likely your path to the report is changed. . Drop that from the dashboard and add them back from the source.Or report may be dropped from the source. Ok ... I think you could be correct here. I can see that one of the folders does not have the same name. Take a look (from the catalog manager): UAT: > .../ BI Reports…

Check out this documentDashboard Error: "Referenced Catalog Object Inaccessible" (Doc ID 2180853.1) Oracle support has suggestted bunch of solutions to address this problem Thanks Venkata. I have looked at that and tried some of the suggestions ... it did not resolve this issue, as of yet. I don't know that the others…

Thanks Arijit. Is this something I can do from the catalog manager? Could you shoot a couple more quick details about the process to do this? Charles

Thanks for the replies!! I think the "enhanced usage tracking" would be a good fit for us ... Regards, Charles
