  • Hi, DVD is a desktop application, not a server application. So you can't include it in anything as it must run on your own desktop. To embed "something" you need a server solution like the cloud services you mention or OBIEE which comes with DV on top.
  • OBIEE is getting away from flash in 12c, and DVD is based on OBIEE, so same thing: it uses HTML5 instead of flash. You can export PDF, that's probably your best way to get a "file" you can then display / link somewhere else. I'm not suggesting to use OBIEE as it's a totally different approach (DVD being a file you download…
  • Did you buy OAC? Do you have an OAC instance? You said you have BICS, and BICS <> OAC.
  • You just don't have the right cloud service. BICS is not OAC, OAC is more than just BICS, and this publish screen asks for OAC connection details.
  • Hi, On 12.2.3.0.0-20170621001724 it works fine. It maybe just does something different than expected as the filter still is in the bar, only the panel opening when you click it open somewhere else instead of right underneath it ...
  • Well .... there is still an option: the doc isn't up to date maybe ... (but even other Oracle documents says the new thing is the light SSO enabled by default and it's mainly a release to align code)
  • The light SSO is enabled by default, before it was an optional thing if you wanted to share the session between DV and OBIEE. I didn't see many things in the 12.2.1.3.0 OBIEE DV, it just looks like before but I also wasn't paying much attention to it.
  • New Features for Oracle Data Visualization Users
  • Of course I can't speak for Oracle (there is at least one of the PM of DVD here on the forum and few more Oracle employee if they want to provide a more precise strategic view). The theory of DVD was exactly what you said: be able to test and develop new features because DVD can be released more frequently. Then the…
  • FYI, I just see OBIEE 12.2.1.3 is available to download ... No need to rush, for DV they doc just says: There are no new Oracle Data Visualization features for this release.
  • As I now heard the word "legal reasons" as reason for the site to be down so far, I guess you better contact your Oracle account manager and annoy him enough until he gives you the plugins you look for.
  • Just FYI: Actively working on re-opening it asap, expected to be back soon with plans for more content. Very sorry for the inconvenience... Posted a bit less than 1h ago, so .... let's wait and see
  • Hi, I can't give you a date or any formal answer but just a global feeling of the strategy you can expect and this will let you guess when things will come (and if they are coming). The strategy is clearly cloud first. So any new thing will be first released in OAC. The on prem side will come at a later step (so far it…
  • Philippe is on holiday. As said the plugins I'm kind of sure it's out of support, so it's not something you paid for or are guaranteed in any possible way. Now you can of course keep blaming them here as they will never see it, you can open a SR and they will probably tell you it isn't something covered by support. So you…
  • Honestly I still don't believe DVD is meant to be sold alone. For me it has never been the point of the tool. It's a bonus for when you have another tool/cloud server as it's given for free. Tableau has only that to focus on, for Oracle DVD is just the last of a ton of tools, so it's clear the effort and focus is…
  • Yes, the SR was totally humorous, I do not wish that to my worst enemy For the rest it's true that they aren't gaining points with that. It's the downside of having moved the plugins into an Oracle site: they lost the freedom to manage it and probably need to wait on somebody else who doesn't care at all. For the info on…
  • It's well hidden But it's also there that you find all the logs with more info when having an error somewhere ... If you got what you looked for you can maybe close the thread as it will help others too.
  • Hi, as far as I know when the site works it's also written that there is no support on the plugins and it's up to you to use them or not as you wish (because you can write the same plugins yourself in the end). I know one of the PM is on holiday, so I would suggest you maybe ping Joseph on Twitter to ask him…
  • Hi, Have a look in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Temp\DVDesktop\logs\OBIS You have the logs of DVD there and in one of the files the queries (the file with the queries is obis1-query.log )
