This would definitely be a useful feature. It is now in the backlog. We will update when this makes progress.

@MGibbs_2023 I agree adding Initcap would be a useful addition for case handling. In the meantime, Sentence case may be a good workaround for now, it will uppercase the first word in the text and lowercase all others.

Thanks @Gianni Ceresa , the details provided may help us automate the conversion in the future.

Hi @Allen Braun Looks like @Gianni Ceresa provided a way to solve your issue - in the future, these two blogs may also be helpful with some complex text columns that need to be converted to dates. If you have a sample file that you can share with me here or privately - I can take a look and see why our semantic profiler…

I assume you are aware the Dataset Authors can set a default Date and Number formatting that would then apply to all workbooks and visualizations. Or is this request for the workbook only?
-
Just an update on this - this is now under development and it is an option for future release. We will keep you posted as the story progresses to the next step.

@Jim English-Oracle - what is most likely the cause of the error is reserved words in the object names. Have you tried going to the ADW connection and going to the advanced tab and selecting Double Quotes as the quoting identifier and trying again? The issue should be resolved after this - let me know if it doesn't.

Hi @shaffner This feature is now schedule for a future update. Please contact me if you have any questions - otherwise I will change the status when the feature has been added to an update.

Hi @shaffner, thanks for the above. It was definitely helpful to understand your use case. I do have some additional questions as we are refining the requirements that I would like to ask offline. Would you please send me an email at luis.rivas@oracle.com when you have a chance. Thank you.

Hi @shaffner - Thanks for submitting this idea. I'm the PM for the Custom Knowledge capabilities and it is great to hear you are interested in helping your users with custom knowledge enrichments. Unfortunately, you are correct we do have the limitation of not supporting numbers as keys. But this is definitely an…

@Michal Zima - yes thank you - I have changed the status to "Under Oracle Review" and it will be forwarded to the appropriate team for this area of the product. Thank you for your idea.

@Michal Zima - Hi - What you are describing is the new default behavior of separating the dataset editing from the workbook authoring. And what seems to be the request is for users without read/write access to the dataset to be able to change the default data formats - this behavior in the past caused issues because if…
-
Hi Michal, I believe what you are asking for is already possible. Users with only read access to datasets can change the data formats in Workbooks at the Viz Level - Please review the below for more details and the Blog for additional details - let me know if you use case/request is different. Overriding the Default Format…

This idea is now being considered for a future release. It may not be at the user grain initially, it will be based on Roles.
