Thanks Gianni and Thomas for giving timely suggestions. Regards. Edit: Corrected typos (SDD > SSD) in my previous posts.

Thank you Gianni. Any thought about SSD? Deployment guide recommends it. The cost goes up, so just checking whether or not having it does really make a difference. Regards, Manoj. Edit/PS: My current 8gb machine takes half an hour to start the services which I want to reduce.

Apologies for a delayed response. Thanks to all of you. Regards, Manoj.

Hi Gianni, Thank you for the above reply. My OBIEE project system administrator has completed the upgrade; kind of a first cut. I have observed the differences between the 11g and 12c. But not sure that the 12c graphs are rendered in html5. Could you please go through the below screen shots and help me understand whether…

Hi Gianni, Thanks for your reply. I am sure that those would be the correct methods. However, I shall update / close the question when the new environment is available. Regards, Manoj.

Thanks Christian for giving this insight. Regards, Manoj.

Thank you Christian. I am sorry I did not inform on Friday that I had gone through the saved selection's xml files which was bit beyond my understanding. The dashboard+page XML is something new to me. Thank you. The question was out of curiosity. I would have liked a feature that when a page is moved from one dashboard to…

Now, when I move P4 from D2 to D3, the saved selections have disappeared. So, there is something that is yet being not considered.

Thanks for you reply Christian. I have revisited this. Scenario: Dashboard: D1. Pages: P1, P2. Dashboard: D2. Page: P3. Created a non-shareable saved customisation on P1. This selection is saved under "/users/manoj/_selections/a_folder_name" folder. The Properties dialog box displays the object's type as "Dashboard…

Hello Christian and Thomas, Thank you for the responses. While I am not 100% familiar with the staging table and its processing logic, I can give an overall and bit simplified concept here. We have an 'Element' hierarchy where Element is the lowest level. Then above that, there is Element Group, Element Area and Element…

Hi Sateesh, You already have replied to Joel Acha. But I am not clear whether or not you were able to connect to SYS@ORCL123 using SQL*Plus ("I <tried ?> logging on ...."/ "I <successfully tried ?> logging on ...."). Do you need all other instances of Oracle? If not it may be a good idea to de-install the databases so that…

I would ensure that the OBI server is connected to the right backend. Also, if any non development environment is disabled for logging and you are taking query generated by OBI Development server to the other environment, there are no typo errors especially in where conditions. Regards.

Here's another https://community.oracle.com/thread/2290549?tstart=0 (Don't know why it didn't allow me to edit the previous reply to insert this URL.)

Hi, With regards to the second question, here's a useful link. https://greatobi.wordpress.com/2011/06/17/advanced-metadata-presentation/ Regards.

The reason for having three aliases is they all are different. So, their column values can be different. Just having one dimension will give you results only when all three day values are the same (and that may not always be true). Your Client's business model itself needs three different Date dimensions to answer business…

A PoC based on the alternative approach - using a Logical SQL - seems to be working.

When I did a Google search, I found this: http://obiee100.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/period-comparison-without-time-series.html Is there any particular reason for not creating a time hierarchy? Perhaps an issue described here? https://greatobi.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/tuning-time-series-metrics/ Ignoring time series, a…

Not sure about your question then after seeing your above reply.

Hi K, Did you try to move the percent column to rows? Regards. Edit: Additionally, in table view if you disable the aggregation (by setting it to None) the percent sub-group and group level totals are not displayed.

Thanks Thomas. The concerned resource has got sufficient idea. Regards, Manoj.
