Upvoted, this is a loss of functionality vs OBIEE

@Jay Pearson-Oracle would be great to have your input on this one, please. We already use custom schemas, just looking to make a stronger case against using OAX_USER directly

Hi Rajesh , we know SME can be customized, the question is about the recommendation to use Custom schema for both ETL and semantic extensions. In other words, what is lost if we use OAX_USER for everything? We already use a custom schema and are just looking for confirmed sources that reinforce this decision.

You can do this in classic already, for DV there is an open enhancement request that needs votes: Add Conditional triggers for DV email scheduler - Oracle

You can use the existing FUSION_HOST_NAME repository variable. Repository variables cannot be referenced directly but you can use a parameter in the URL navigation. Details: https://blogs.oracle.com/analytics/oracle-fusion-analytics-use-of-deep-links-to-navigate-to-fusion-applications-from-data-visualizations

Just to clarify. The DV Scheduler feature is available in FDI. However it can only be used by Service Admins. We are requesting a new system role so we can allow users to use this feature without having to grant them Service Admin roles. This system role must be visible in FDI as well.

@User_BR9YB Please vote for this enhancement request: Add system role for DV Scheduler feature. Make it available for FDI

Thanks @mgoswami for the clarification. I incorrectly assumed this was FDI to Fusion OTBI Instead of OAC Classic(OBIEE Answers) to BIP.

You can use the already existing FUSION_HOST_NAME repository variable. Repository variables cannot be referenced direclty but parameters can. Create a parameter with the initial value set to this repository variable using LSQL, then reference the parameter on the action link URL @parameter…

Thanks @Prasenjit_Thakur-Oracle. which options should be marked for safe domain?

Thanks @RMJ-kpmg . I think Custom security context could work if you use the auto sync table (CUSTOMER_FAW_CONTENT_AUTOSYNC_ASSIGNMENT) Update Security Assignments Automatically Unless the filter logic requires a complex expression instead of just value matching

@RMJ-kpmg What release are you using? I can see the +Data Security Step in 25R4

Great idea, upvoting

You will need custom security contexts: https://blogs.oracle.com/analytics/post/implementing-custom-security-context-in-oracle-fusion-data-intelligence-fdi FDI can automatically bring security assignments from Fusion but only for a predefined subset that includes Business units, ledgers, asset books. This subset does not…
