New Hire Portal Access and SSO

Hi -
We are trying to create an easy to remember vanity URL for the new hire portal but are coming up with issues because our SSO with Taleo for the other products (performance, recruiting) is taking over and looking for authentication on employee credentials and not the ones a new hire will use to access the portal.
Has anyone been successful in creating a vanity URL for their new hire portal and bypassing SSO for the other Taleo products?
Any help will be appreciated.
