TSC prevents merging of candidate profiles - due to TSC calendar archiving

So we have recently found an issue with merging candidate records due to TSC.

I'm not sure if anyone has come across this already but basically unless you have marked every candidate who has ever scheduled in for a calendar invite through TSC, you won't be able to merge their record, if the calendar is any older than 3 moths. This is due to a functionality that Taleo/Oracle has come up with to archived any calendar older than 3 months.

I have gone through all documentation and this is nowhere to be seen, this is causing us so much pain as we are trying to clean up all our duplicate candidate records but this issue is preventing us.
