Gamification and Badges

We are currently investigating the potential to use badges and points to gamify a subset of our courses for sales staff.  The intent is to promote competition, socialize the learning and provide a reward system to users that complete the training in a tiemely matter.

I posting here to see if any one has/knows of a vendor/system/homegrown solution that would accomplish this.

We have started looking at Badgeville and a few other vendors to see if we could integrate with Taleo Learn, but it is looking so far like we would need to rely on building our own and using API's.
