Is Start Date editable in Transitions?

During the April 2014 Onboarding SIG Jodie Holway mentioned that Start Date was editable in Transitions.  I know it updates when More Actions > Update Start Date is used on the Recruiting side, but when we pull the field into a form or correspondence in Transitions it is read-only.  Is there some way to edit it directly in Transitions?
