How can I make the LearnCenter Search DO display quickly on a page?

The LearnCenter Search DO takes too long to display on page. Users often dont see it because by the time it displays on the page, they have moved on. Takes almost 10 seconds sometimes. I only have the DO setup to search courses. Is there anything I can change to make this DO display quickly?
