IE 11 page modifcation /control panel issues

When I am trying to create page and modify the HTML code I have to be in compatibility mode or else I do not get the HTML option (at bottom of screen to edit) or the save button

However from control panel when I try to edit the Header, I have to be in regular mode or else I cannot see/edit/save and I am getting an application error

Any one else encountering issue and have a resolution, its not easy to swap compatibility modes all the time to get a job done.
