New Course Player - We're sorry, the page you are looking for cannot be found

Summary

Courses being launched from Control Panel are trying to open in the New Course Player and producing an error

One of my colleagues is getting this error when trying to launch SCORM courses via the Control Panel > Courses > Course > Select Course.

I can see that it is launching the new course player, it has a loading animation, and a blue bar/banner at the top, see screenshot below.

This is happening in IE 11 and Chrome.

The strange part, when I logged in as my colleague on my machine, using Chrome, I didn't get this behaviour, it launched the SCORM courses in the classic/legacy course player.
