Time to "cook" - Widgets

Has anyone noticed that when you add a course or learning plan to a widget it takes a few minutes for it to appear? I'll add something to a widget using a category tag and then wait ... and wait ... and wait for it to finally appear. Is there a set time for this process or should I accept it as a hint to get more coffee?
