Is there any benefit to using a user group specific to executive recruiting users?

We are in the process of configuration design and are planning on utilizing the Executive req type and limit the access to users with one specific user type. I was wondering if anyone else does this and also includes these users in a specific Executive user group? I wanted to know why there would be a need for a separate executive user group when the access to the executive req type is controlled by the user type. We had this at my old organization and I cannot remember why. The only thing I could think of was using this user
