How can a popup be customized when you cannot activate source in customize page

We would like to make Sexual orientation and gender identity hidden on the manage person->Gender & Marital Status->edit-> Update Gender and Marital Status->view more details in Fusion HCM.  

In the manage person screen as soon as I open the popup I cannot switch back to 'Source' in customize page.  If I customize page first I cannot click the edit button to bring up the popup as it activates edit component for the button.

If I look in the source, I can see what I believe to be the fields on the popup that I would like to hide but the "Hide / component" is greyed out for the respective fields possibly because the popup is not displayed?
