Group Asset Number or Parent Asset Functionality

Has anyone used the functionality for using a grouped asset number, or the parent asset functionality in cloud? Specifically, we are looking at options to bring on buildings that may have multiple additions that are components of a single asset, but have different rates of depreciation. We want to be able to report on the full value of the building, as well as the individual components. Thanks!
