Ability for Employees to Update Correspondance Language in HCM

Does anyone know if HCM (Newsfeed) version allows employees to go in via self service and update their language?  For example if we wanted the language preference for all of our employees documented in HCM (Newsfeed) do we have the ability for our employees to update this themselves and if so how?  So far, if i go in with admin permissions under person management i am able to select a language from a drop down list but if i try to do this as an employee i don't see it anywhere.  Under biographical information the only thing listed is birth date.
