Summary

New legislation on contracts and impact on hiring

Content

as of April next year, the following legislation is being introduced ‘The Employment Rights (Employment Particulars and Paid Annual Leave) (Amendment) Regulations 2018’ – this will mean that we will be required to provide an updated contract to be signed by the candidate if any changes to their employment details are made before hire for example start date. The following overview will show you where the problem will lie.

Current process:

  • Candidate signs a contract with a tentative start date
  • Start date is pushed back by hiring manager
  • We email a candidate the updated start date but make no changes to contract
