Hide the learning catalog from contingent workers

Hello

We have a business and legal requirement to only show the learning catalog to paid employees, meaning that anyone with a worker type of contingent worker should only see learning modules that have been assigned to them.

We tried numerous ways of achieving this yesterday - firstly creating a custom contingent worker role with limited access, however we couldn't seem to get the module to display their assigned learning without showing the catalog. Secondly we tried to personalise the catalog out of view for the contingents but once we did this for the contingent role, it disappeared from the employee view too.
