Balance Sheet totals are different for two different users, same report

Content

Two users in our office have opened the same Balance Sheet report, same parameters, same format, but it is in-balance for one, and out-of-balance for the other.

The difference lies with the Liabilities and RE totals adding in subtotals, therefore double counting.  (Assets agree between both users' versions.)

The issue only applies to some Companies, not all Companies.

What can cause the same report to be different for different users?
