PeopleSoft to HCM Cloud - Building out a Tree Structure

Summary

HCM Cloud do not currently house Department ID. Would like to gain insight from those who have move from PeoplSoft to HCM Cloud on how their issue was resolved

Issue:  When creating a department in PeopleSoft, one of the required fields is Name.  At MDACC the department name can change; however, what does not change is the department ID.  There doesn’t appear be a field for department ID in HCM Cloud, and this poses a problem for MDACC.

Current Idea:  What MDACC project team is currently kicking around is capturing the ID + the Name in the *Name field and creating a Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) to capture the ID, which would remain stagnant for reporting purposes.
