Reporting performance differences between BI Admin & BI consumer roles

We are seeing reports run much slower for users who only have a BI consumer role compared to BI Admins

We have been receiving reports from our end users that reports are timing out or failing to run in a timely manner in both dashboards and Infolets. When members of my team who have BI Admin roles run the exact same reports they generally run within seconds. The end users have a variety of security settings, some have Line Manager security and can only see colleagues in their reporting line, whereas others who are seeing the issues have Org level security. We are at a loss to understand what might be causing this so I was wondering if anyone else has
