ORC Notification template branding with Images

we are trying to update ORC notification templates with relevant corporate header logo for external candidate emails.

When we preview it all looks good , but when a candidate receives the email notification  - example " thankyou for applying for the postion " template. on their own email account , Gmail for example, the image does not render and display.

 

has anyone else experienced this and if so did you establish a good maintainable workaround .

has there been an "idea" raised?
