Filter analysis based on results of other fields which were based on a filter

I created a report that will compare, by benefit, what should have been deducted from an employee's check vs what actually did get deducted. As a result I have two subject areas that are joined. I am prompting the user to enter a check date. This date filter the Date Paid field in Payroll Balance Real Time subject area. Once the user enters the check date, I would like two fields from the Payroll Balance Real Time subject area (payroll period start date and payroll period end date) to be used as filters to check rate start and end dates
