I understand that Essbase add in is not around anymore effectively being used, I have a trouble converting users from using essbase addin to smartview and here is a scenario.

In Essbase Classic,

Go to Member Selection/Dimesnion, uncheck "Use Aliases" and add two parent level menbers at a Generation.
Right Click each member and select "Subset".In the Subset Dialog box and select "Generation Name" / "Is" / and select various generation levels.
