SLA Question - Can a GL segment value be populated from a sales order header field using SLA?

Requirement:  We are trying to get reporting by sales district for revenue and COGS.

One option we are looking at is:

We have a field in the sales order header "sales order warehouse" where we are putting values for our sales districts.

We want to populate a GL segment called "Location" with a value based on the sales order header field.  Can this be done using SLA?  Does this require custom programming?
